Forestry First Aid Course Overview
Forestry First Aid – Sometimes referred to as EFAW+F, this is a 7 hour, 1 day course and is designed for those who work with chainsaws and other hazardous equipment and is requirement of many insurers for Tree Surgeons, Arborists, Landscape Gardeners, Stalking Contractors, Recreational Hunters, Civil Engineering Contractors and those who work on Forestry Commission Land (including Forest Workers, Forestry and Fencing Contractors). Our Forestry First Aid course conforms to all the recommended topics required by the Forestry Commission First Aid Policy 2024.
Two certificates will be awarded to all those who successfully complete the course: Emergency First Aid at Work + Forestry First Aid.

The course Instructor is responsible for determining whether delegates pass or fail based on practical and oral assessment throughout the course, i.e. by observation and oral questioning. The Instructor will only award a pass if they believe that delegates have displayed the requisite understanding and competencies at the end of each session throughout the course. |
Forestry First Aid – What You Will Learn
The syllabus for this course is as specified by the Health and Safety Executive (HSE) and is fully compliant with The Health and Safety (First-Aid) Regulations 1981.
Forestry First Aid At Work – Course Location + Duration
This course can be run in-house, or at a location of your choice for up to 12 delegates.
The HSE require at least 7 training contact hours for this course, which can be delivered in 1 day, or broken down into individual days/evenings to suit you.
Delegates must attend all sessions to be eligible for assessment, which is done by continuous observation and questioning during the course.

Forestry First Aid At Work Qualification
On successful completion of this course, you will receive a Level 3 (RQF) Emergency First Aid at Work Certificate, as well as a Level 3 (RQF) Forestry First Aid Certificate, both of which are valid for three years. This course is Regulated by Ofqual under their Regulated Quality Framework (RQF) and accredited by the FAA.
