Management of Anaphylaxis – An Anaphylactic shock, or anaphylaxis, is a life-threatening, serious allergic reaction to an allergen such as food substances or insect stings. If it is not treated appropriately, it may cause death. The UK is one of the top countries in the world for incidence of allergies. The likelihood is that someone in your school could have a severe allergy and this must form part of your First Aid needs assessment. This training is for qualified First Aiders and Emergency First Aiders to enable them to recognise and treat anaphylaxis safely and effectively.

| Assessment |
The course Instructor is responsible for determining whether delegates pass or fail based on practical and oral assessment throughout the course, i.e. by observation and oral questioning, as well as the completion of a multiple-choice question paper at the end of the course. The Instructor will only award a pass if they believe that delegates have displayed the requisite understanding and competencies at the end of each session throughout the course and successfully completed the question paper. |

The syllabus for this course meets the HSE and Resuscitation Council (UK) training recommendations.
Management of Anaphylaxis Course – Location + Duration
This course can be run in-house, or at a location of your choice for up to 12 delegates.
The HSE recommend at least 6 training contact hours for this course, which can be delivered in 1 day, or broken down into individual days/evenings to suit you.
Delegates must attend all sessions to be eligible for assessment, which is done by continuous observation and questioning during the course.
Who Should Attend?
This course is suitable for all First Aiders and healthcare professionals, as well as those in a high risk environment where such medication is available. Also, those who provide childcare and workplace First Aiders, in the leisure and catering industries, who have to deal with those prone to anaphylaxis should also attend.
Management of Anaphylaxis – Qualification
On successful completion of this course, you will receive a Level 3 (RQF) Immediate Management of Anaphylaxis Certificate, which is valid for three years. This course is Regulated by Ofqual under their Regulated Quality Framework (RQF) and accredited by the FAA.
