Mental Health Awareness Course Overview
In this Mental Health Awareness course, we will increase learners’ understanding of common mental health conditions and their own Mental Health, including how or when it might suffer, and what they can do about it.
This course is suitable for all employees (in any work environment) who would benefit from understanding more about Mental Health and how to support themselves and colleagues in the workplace. The course is introductory and no prior knowledge or training is required.
It will raise awareness of Mental Health, encourage early intervention to aid recovery, increase confidence in dealing with Mental Health issues and will reduce stigma in the workplace.
The Mental Health Awareness course is an excellent way to support your nominated Workplace Mental Health First Aiders and create a culture of wellness within your organisation.
Why does an employer’s duty of care include staff Mental Health?
Employers have a legal duty of care to ensure that employees are provided with a safe working environment and must take reasonable care to prevent personal injury (including mental or physical harm) that may arise in the workplace.
